Help me out ...
I'm looking for the least expensive means to live with regard to food. I'm living in poverty, and I budget, and I need to spend the least amount of money possible in order to sustain myself.
It's a basic question...
Searching google returns 100's or 1000's of dumb ass answers to this basic question.
So far... I have determined that purchasing a 20 lb. turkey and cooking it myself results in the most protein I can get for the buck ($1.29/lb.) Probably get 17 lbs. of actual turkey to eat ($1.48/lb.) (Vegetables are too expensive for me). Bread - in a turkey sandwich is reasonable. I can get two loaves for $2.39. I need butter to baste the turkey - I personally believe there are benefits to eating butter. Add $1.30 for butter per 20 lb. turkey. Add .25 for pepper (it's expensive).
So, now I have wheat bread, turkey, butter (dairy) and pepper...
I need fruit... I need cheap fruit. Apples are great, but have the least amount on impact on toxins and such. I would like blueberries, choke-cherries, cherries, or possibly palmagranites...
If you have a better way, please let me know via comments.
I would value fruit over vegetables personally... in fact are there any REAL benefits to eating vegetables? I guess mineral content... iron & such. I'm a man, so I don't need iron and all that shit.
In the earliest days, people ate wheat and barley. Protein and Carbohydrates basically...
What I'm asking is, what are the very, very basic food requirements for a person to live and be able to work 8 hours per day? I'm 43 years old, so I require less than a 21 year old, plus I live in America, where everything is expensive.

It turns out that Turkey is mostly water... so a 20 lb. turkey results in about 5 lbs. of actual protein or food... Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
